Taylor Napier, PhD

Taylor R. Napier, PhD, is a postdoctoral scholar in the Thrive Lab at The Ohio State University, Department of Social Work. Dr. Napier completed her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the University of Memphis and her pre-doctoral internship at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center. She is passionate about serving young children and their caregivers who have experienced hardship through both clinical and research avenues. Her research interests include examining strength-based parenting factors that contribute to improved early childhood outcomes following child maltreatment. Dr. Napier’s work takes an intergenerational approach to understand how maternal adversity exposure and subsequent parenting practices influence child development in the context of family violence.

In addition to her research, Dr. Napier’s clinical interests center on supporting parents to implement positive parenting strategies in the home. She is currently providing Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) services at Nationwide Children’s Hospital Center for Child Development.
